Welcome to MFG/PRO User Group UK

Introduction

The MFG/PRO User Group UK was formed in December 1994 by the merger of the Largotim MFG/PRO User Group and the British MFG/PRO User group. All users of the MFG/PRO software in the UK are now together and benefit from swapping ideas and experiences. The association is a non-profit making body, funded by its members, and is totally independent of both suppliers and QAD. At the current time there are over 160 member companies in the user network, from large multi-nationals to small company users. The User Group aims to provide benefit to all users, in all sectors, by networking practical experiences.

Aims and Objectives

The Aims and Objectives of the Association are:

  • To facilitate the exchange of information between and to represent users of MFG/PRO and related software.
  • To provide a means by which the interests and opinions of the Members can be presented to QAD and its distributors.
  • To remain a totally independent and non- profit making body.
  • To recommend and promote the preferred order for inclusion of enhancements, links to other systems and further development of MFG/PRO with QAD and/or its distributors.
  • To actively encourage Membership of the association throughout all users of MFG/PRO in the UK.

Structure of the Organisation

The organisation is controlled by an Executive Committee elected at the Annual General Meeting in May / June each year. This Committee consists of three Officers: Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, a paid, part time, Secretary and a number of elected Committee members. Members of the Committee may serve for a maximum of three years before seeking re-election. The Secretary contracts with the Executive Committee to provide secretarial and administrative services to the User Group. The Secretary acts as a central point of contact for all Members.

Fees

Members pay an annual membership fee, which is reviewed annually by the Executive Committee. It is currently £200 per annum plus VAT (2008/2009). The membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March.

Activities

The User Group plans to hold at least three members meetings during the year, one being a two day event. Past events are described elsewhere. Other networking activities are planned for the future. In addition, the Chairman attends the QAD MFG/PRO World-wide user conference on behalf of Members. This, high profile event, brings considerable benefits to the User Group from interaction with QAD, other companies and other international user groups.
